Thomas' elephant-snout fish (Mormyrus thomasi) is known only from its original collection in the 1930s from the imprecise locality “French Congo.” The Sierra Leone mormyrid (Marcusenius meronai) is known only from the Bagbé and Rokel rivers of northern Sierra Leone, where it is threatened by habitat destruction and drought.
